Update on COVID vaccinations in Fleetwood

The following statement has been issued by NHS England regarding the COVID-19 vaccination programme for Fleetwood:

"We have received a large number of comments and concerns regarding COVID-19 vaccinations for people living in Fleetwood.

Local vaccination services are being set up across the country and the Fylde Coast.

These services vary in different areas, but include GP practices, local authority sourced buildings or other local facilities, as well as roving teams who have started delivering the vaccine in care homes.

We can confirm that people living in Fleetwood have already started to receive COVID-19 vaccinations with hundreds being vaccinated at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. More will be vaccinated at upcoming clinics in Wyre.

The three GP practices in Fleetwood have worked together with a community pharmacy to develop a vaccination service in the town which will be launched in the next couple of weeks.

We understand people are both keen and anxious to get vaccinated as soon as possible, but please let us reassure you it won’t be long at all before people in the top priority groups are contacted by the NHS to book their appointment to receive their vaccination in Fleetwood."
