SEVEN WAYS IN SEVEN DAYS ... to support your health & wellbeing

Some suggestions for activities and events in the week ahead with an emphasis on getting out and about!


Monday 27th – Armed Forces Walk & Talk from 10.30am

The weekly event for service personnel, veterans, family and friends goes ahead for Bank Holiday Monday. Meet up at Marine Hall carpark enjoy the conversation as you take a stroll along the Promenade followed by a brew in the colonnades cafe.


Tuesday 28th – Learn To Ride, various times (also on 30th May)

If you never learned to cycle or haven’t been on a bike for years and want to regain confidence, this FREE training course is for you. Friendly and qualified instructors will help with your balance, confidence and cycling skills. Bring your own bike or use one provided by Wyre Council … just come ready to ride!


Wednesday 29th – Wildflower Walk from 2pm to 3.30pm

A FREE escorted walk through Larkholme Grasslands whilst identifying some of the wildflowers that are of significant importance to the area. Just turn up at Rossall Hospital car park. Tramper, wheelchair and pushchair accessible.


Thursday 30th May – Gardening at The Mount, 10.30am to 12noon

Join Wyre Council for a FREE community event at the beautiful Mount Gardens by helping to replant the rear flower beds. Everyone is welcome – all ages, there is no need to book, simply turn up. Meet by the lodges on Mount Road, suitable footwear and appropriate clothing is required.

Friday 31st – Xplorer Orienteering from 11am to 3pm

Another FREE event, this time for ages 5 to 14 years. Meet at Wyre Estuary Country Park in Thornton to find hidden markers in the green spaces. Register on the day at The Riverside Room - no need to book. (Please note the activity does not take the full session – parents/carers should make appropriate arrangements)


Saturday 1st June – Fleetwood Promenade parkrun starting at 9am

The last couple of weeks have seen glorious conditions to match the views across Morecambe Bay, and great turn outs! It doesn’t matter if you set a personal best time or just take it easy, it’s about being part of this community event as a runner/walker or a volunteer.


Sunday 2nd June - Women’s Cricket from 10am

Support the Fleetwood Cricket & Sports Club Women & Girls team in their fixture with Fulwood & Broughton, at Broadwater, Fleetwood … and if you want to find out more about playing (men, women, youngsters), ask an official on the day or visit the Club’s Facebook page for details of coaching evenings and more.
