It’s been great to see the mobile breast screening unit located at the Health & Wellbeing Centre on Dock Street for the last week.
The return of the service to Fleetwood follows a passionate and successful community campaign earlier this year. With a local unit now available again, women are encouraged to take up their appointments - it really can save lives.
Our best wishes to Ben and the team at Fleetwood Museum as the venue prepares to open for the 2022 season on Tuesday 5th April.
We had a chat recently with Angelica, the Museum’s arts coordinator and there are some exciting plans for exhibits and activities over the next couple of years - great opportunities to connect residents with the Town’s fascinating history and heritage including the next phase of the Mapping Memories project.
> Visit the Fleetwood Museum website.It’s the Easter School holidays for most families from the weekend and there’s some great events and activities to keep everyone amused ...Affinity Lancashire shopping outlet has an Easter Trail challenge with a games consol as the prize, themed arts and crafts, petting zoo and live entertainment.
The Centre is also organising an Easter Egg collection - donations being passed to Fleetwood’s foodbank, The Pantry.
Plenty of ways to enjoy the Great Outdoors over the holidays including walks. beach cleans, 'Sow & Grow' events and more arts and crafts sessions ...
... Wyre Estuary Country Park hosts fun, creative activities for 7 - 11 year olds on Tuesday 12th April from 10am - noon. (Booking is by phone to 01995 602125).
Healthier Fleetwood is supporting a family arts and crafts session, Fleetwood Library, Wednesday 13th April, 10am - noon. All materials and refreshments are kindly provided - please book in advance at the Library to avoid disappointment.
As it’s Spring (or at least it should be) it’s the perfect time to get on your bike!
Wyre Council has announced a schedule of events designed to get people in the saddle, and out and about. Fleetwood’s ‘social cycling’ rides start from the Marine Hall at 10am on selected Fridays until the end of October. There are also some ‘family cycling’ rides during the year.
If you want to get involved but don’t have your own bike and helmet, these can be provided (for adults only). > Dates, more information and how to book is availlable here.
Fleetwood Men's Shed is putting together a community event to mark Mental Health Week in May this year.
It's being held on Thursday 12th May from noon to 6pm at Marine Hall and will showcase the many organisations, services and voluntary groups supporting local resident’s wellbeing.
The event will be free to attend for the public on the day and for those taking a table. If you are interested in being involved, please contact Dave Smith on mensshedfleetwood@gmail.com.
Local businesses are reminded of this month’s Bee Anytime networking event tomorrow (Friday 1st April) at The Coffee Box, Affinity.

Also tomorrow the Just Reminiscing collection is with us in our Wellbeing & Community Information Centre at Affinity Lancashire.
Call in between 11am and 1pm to meet the team and see the fascinating artifacts and memorabilia designed to spark memories and start conversations.
And lastly it’s our next Open Meeting on Wednesday 6th April from 6.30pm at Emmanuel at the Mount.
