GOOD NEWS - July 21st

With temperatures peaking this week, many of us would have taken to the water to cool off but one local resident has something more than a 'dip' planned ...

Adam Diver is an ex-serviceman and member of the vibrant Fylde Coast Armed Forces Veterans community, he is an international-level triathlete representing Great Britain (and Fleetwood of course) and his day-job is a social prescribing link-worker supporting other residents to improve their health and wellbeing.

Tomorrow (Friday 22nd July), Adam will also be taking on the challenge to swim from the mainland at St Bees, Cumbria to the Isle of Man. The 'Big Swim' will be an incredible four six-hour sessions in the water, supported along the way by a crew of fantastic volunteers in kayaks ensuring Adam is safe, and getting all the food and water his body will need every 30 minutes. The feat has never been achieved before and Adam hopes to raise awareness of mental health issues, funds for the Healthier Heroes charity and the group will also be collecting water samples for scientific research.

We add all our best wishes to Adam for calm seas, a safe and successful crossing!
