GOOD NEWS - 9th October
We start this week's bulletin with more opportunities to recognise some of the amazing work in our communities ...
There's plenty of Fleetwood nominees for the Fylde Kids Foundation Awards.
These celebrate local individuals, businesses and groups who have been nominated for their growth, community spirit, customer service, outstanding work and much more! A Gala event will take place at the Village Hotel, Blackpool on 29th November to announce the winners.
The first Wyre Community Awards will be held on 4th December.
The three categories cover work with adults, children and making a difference in the wider community. Nominations end on the 20th.
There's a new way to keep up-to-date with all the fantastic work from the team at Fleetwood Town Community Trust.
... the Sports College where males & females 16 - 19 year olds continue their education alongside the opportunity to play competitive football; Try Sport - football, rugby, dance, boxing and more for younger children; The Champions Programme supporting young people regardless of their circumstances and background AND you can meet the latest 'Friends of The Trust'. There's also a link to Jorgi's Story - how a 12 year-old Fleetwood girl is loving the Tiny Tyson's boxing sessions!
Fleetwood's Market House Studios is hosting a series of FREE sign-painting workshops starting at the end of the month.
Over the seven sessions there will be light exercises in creative writing and drawing incorporating historical stories and everyday observations. Each week skills will be demonstrated and shared, participants can have a go and try something new or work on their own paintings in a creative, calm space supervised by professional artist, Lisa. Workshops are every Wednesday from 30th of October until 11th of December, 10am to 2pm. Places are for adults aged 18 years & over, FREE to attend - booking is essential.

Healthier Fleetwood is working with a number of community partners to coordinate the list of Fleetwood venues opening as Warm Spaces and once we have all the details confirmed will share the list of days and times.
