GOOD NEWS - 14th December

We often share GOOD NEWS from Fleetwood's churches and the faith community, this week it's a church building itself making the headlines.

As 2023 draws to a close Historic England is celebrating 16 remarkable historic gems which have been added to the National Heritage List for England over the past year, and St Nicholas Church, Fleetwood is one of them! The Grade II listed building is designed to look like an upturned boat, construction took place from 1960 - 1962.

St Nicholas Church is a vibrant community hub, within the main building and the accompanying Broadway Rooms - hosting services, coffee mornings, classes and events throughout the week. Work is also underway adjacent to the church on new youth facilities, which will be managed by The Boathouse.

> Read more about this recognition on the Historic England website here

> Follow all the news and events from St Nicholas Church on Facebook

There are many Christmas collections and appeals, fantastic work by residents, voluntary groups and organisations supporting the Fleetwood community.

Elizabeth and Jordanna from Fleetwood Primary Care Network have been out recently with a special friend delivering presents to children nominated by all the town's primary schools. Donations were supported by Fylde Coast Soccer, Mountview Practice, Broadway Medical Centre and Fleetwood Surgery.
