GOOD NEWS - 13th July
Fleetwood's Festival of Transport & SpareParts, or Tram Sunday in old money, is this weekend and it's going to be amazing!
The organising committee has been working incredibly hard for months to plan the event: booking exhibitors, entertainment, attractions and stalls; dealing with road closures and access, health & safety, promotion and the many tasks that have to be ticked off so we can all enjoy the day. Thank you all.
But before the big day, there's even more happening in Fleetwood ...The Royal Navy Association is holding a Fun Night and Fundraiser for the Wyre & Fylde Community Defibrillator Group.
It's on Friday 14th July at the Cons Club on Lowther Road, from 7pm. Tickets are £5pp on the door or for more information contact Christine on (01253) 772366.> Follow all the news from the Wyre & Fylde Community Defibrillator Group on Facebook.
There's a FREE photowalk in Fleetwood on Saturday 15th July from 10am-12 midday with artist Hannah - an exciting part of the High Street Heritage Action Zone programme.
Everything you need to shoot and print photographs captured on your journey is provided and the work will form an exhibition to be held in November. All ages and abilities are welcome - places can be booked via Eventbrite here.
... and join creative artist Tina for a Mapping Workshop on Saturday.
You'll wander around the Mount Gardens, to collect specimens, colours, sounds, textures, patterns and then create a personal, responsive map. The workshop is 11am to 1pm, all ages are welcome, no booking is required and it's FREE!
Unfortunately, the RNLI Fleetwood Open Day planned for Saturday has been postponed and will now take place on Saturday 19th August - more on the RNLI Facebook page here.
And so to Sunday, there's loads going on ...
Up and about early ... try the Fleetwood Indoor & Outdoor Carboot Sale. On every Sunday from 9am until 2pm, on Navigation Way, you'll find dozens of stalls with new and used items, and something to eat or drink. For more information or if you'd like to book a stall please telephone 07935 898624.
The Fleetwood Festival of Transport itself starts at 10am and runs until 5pm ... Displays of classic cars, buses, bikes and other vehicles of all eras, the fun of the fair and dozens of stalls - Healthier Fleetwood and other community groups will be at the Fisherman's Walk end of Lord Street. Should you need it, Festival Control and Information will be in a double-decker bus parked in Albert Square. There's a fantastic line-up of live music and entertainment on stage near Ash St starting with Harmony & Health (10am) and concluding with The Cracked. The parade will leave Ash Street at approximately 11:45am and make it’s way along the whole route of the festival from Lord Street through to North Albert Street, finishing at the North Euston Hotel.
All the information on the Festival is on the Facebook page and the official website here.
Please support the event and the many local businesses that will be opening too.
There's more FREE family fun at Fleetwood Market on Sunday ...
Call in from 11am to 3pm for live music and entertainment, arts & crafts and a huge inflatable whale on Victoria Street! This is a unique setting for interactive story-telling sessions about pirates, treasure and mermaids - show times are at 11am, 1pm and 3pm, tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis.
And for a different view of Fleetwood, it's back to The Mount Pavilion.
The much-loved venue will be open from 9am to 4pm on Sunday - volunteers from the Fleetwood Civic Society will be available to show visitors around and answer questions.
