It's the school half-term holidays next week ... and Affinity Lancashire Outlet has a packed programme of free events and activities for the family!
From meeting some of your favourite supers, to crafty workshops, a silent disco and their popular themed, centre trails ... everything is FREE, there are donation points around the Outlet, supporting their chosen Charity of the Year.
And congratulations to the team at Affinity Lancashire for their two nominations at this week's Lancashire Tourism Awards ... although sadly it wasn't their night.
A reminder that the school holidays is a chance for local children to enjoy FREE swimming at YMCA Fleetwood. This is open to youngsters aged 0 to 17 years, living in the FY7 postcode thanks to support from Fleetwood Town Council.
There was a great first week for the new Fleetwood Art Club, running on Saturday afternoons in the Library.
14 local residents attended, enjoying a couple of hours watercolour painting with tutor Joe, many of them surprising themselves with the standard of their work. There's a different theme every week, materials are provided and it is FREE, although a small donation is appreciated to keep the group going for as long as possible. There's no need to book but based on last week it may be busy, we'll do our best to fit everyone in on the day!
Top Tip from Joe: Looking at a blank piece of white paper can be daunting so get some colour down to create a background, not too dark, then think more about the layout and detail of your painting ... what's the worst that can happen!
We're looking forward to welcoming visitors to the new Healthier Fleetwood Information Centre at The Hub later this week.
This will be our fifth premises in as many years, each has been different but they've all been a great opportunity to share the amazing groups, activities and events supporting local residents' health, and to foster community spirit. The space at The Hub was signed off a few weeks ago, we've been moving in the noticeboards, stocking up the shelves and will be open on Friday 14th February from 10am to 2pm.
Initially, we will open on Fridays in February and March, always 10am to 2pm, adding days as we settle in and other community facilities open. It's a work in progress!
Our space has plenty of room to display all the information we had before and some more however this time, we won't be able to offer hot drinks. It will only be a few weeks before the wonderful, new Community Cafe at The Hub opens and it is literally next door!
See you soon!
