ADVENT CALENDAR: Day 15

Today's star featured in our Advent Calendar is the wonderful Pat Chappels.

Many of you will know Pat for her warm nature, good humour and care for her friends and neighbours. She's an enthusiastic member of the community and has recently taken on responsibility for running a new social group meeting at Fleetwood Library.

Young@Heart brings together local residents of 65 years and above for a cuppa, companionship and activities - they will also be arranging trips and events next year. They meet on Tuesdays from 10am to 12 noon, it's free to attend and there's no need to book in advance.

The group was started with the support of the Fleetwood Social Prescribers but is resident-led. It's a great example of how individuals and a community should be empowered to take more control of their own health and wellbeing.
